Good Morning Reader,

As I write this, I'm hoping we have power over the weekend throughout this potential snow/sleet/ice storm here in parts of the U.S.

After Hurricane Helene, many of us Ashevillians are feeling a bit triggered. As native New Englanders, my household is used to bad snowstorms, but these mountains are a bit intimidating. Fingers crossed this is not an ice storm.

However, I've got the gluten-free and lactose-free pistachio bundt cake ready to go with a few coveted bottles of Sonoma Pinot Noir...

• Literary or historical fiction
• Free Space; OR read a nonfiction book or watch a movie
• Romance or mystery novel
